Biography

Bohunka is a visual artist who creates small and large-scale oil paintings that take inspiration from her surroundings in her adopted home, the Pacific Northwest

Her love for beauty and nature are largely derived from her father, a furniture maker, wood worker and consummate gardener. She spent countless hours with him in her native Czechoslovakia learning to appreciate the wonders and beauty of the natural world.

Bohunka studied Fine Arts and Education in Olomouc, Czechoslovakia.  She then worked as a teacher of Art before political unrest behind the iron curtain led her to escape her homeland for a new life in the United States. ​
